It looks like a scorcher

While most of us here in the UK are just seeing the first glimses of the summer, my family holiday at the end of the month looks like bringing some much needed sunshine! But.....35 deg C ??? Is this the norm for May? I was more thinking or hoping for about 28-30 degC...with two small kids, that seems WELL hot!

Are the mozzys in full flight now, or are they still subdued?

We were in Florida last year from 18th May to 7th June. May was lovely - some very hot days but not humid. First week in June was WET - the normal rainfall for the whole of June fell in the first week. The good news - there were no Mosquitos!

Have a great holiday

How right you are!
We were also over at the end of May/beginning of June last year. We spent the first week working on the villa and then the rains came!!

We closed on our villa in June and I was amazed how the rain came down so quickly and then dried up just as quick.

Ok...looks like we might have picked the 'wet season' then....oh well, it was the only time we could go due to the kids SATS. How wet can we expect? Is it gone in 60 seconds rain....or deluge all day??? beggining to get a little worried now:(

Under normal circumstances you should be ok - last June set new rainfall records for the month so should be a 'one-off'! We have travelled before in May and June and the weather has been perfect - hot but not humid. In my experience the real 'rainy season' tends to be July/August but usually only afternoon heavy showers and then the Sun comes out again and the ground dries almost instantly.

You will have a great time - and with the current high temperatures a little rain may be very much appreciated!

Phewww thanks there BB for that confidence boost....we are renowned for the bad weather to follow us on our hols....the main reason for choosing Florida!

I learn that there is a new road into Disney from Orange tree ??Anyone used it yet? Is it worth the trouble or should I stick to the main routes?

:lol:;)...so looking foward to it !

You still have to come down 27 from Orange Tree and a little way along 192. You can then head north again and pickup the extension of Osceola Parkway to the West of the Animal Kingdom.

I have not tried this myself so if I have it wrong then please correct me.

Regards Dave
