NASA's Programme for 2007
NASA currently is planning seven launches from the Sunshine State during the next 12 months, although some of the dates undoubtedly will change. As
always, shuttle missions lift off from the Kennedy Space Center and unmanned spacecraft depart from the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. Here's the
line up as of today:
Feb. 15 – NASA’s THEMIS satellites are scheduled to launch aboard a Delta 2 rocket on a mission to study Earth’s magnetosphere.
March 16 – Shuttle Atlantis is scheduled to launch on a mission to install another set of power-producing solar arrays on the international space
station.
June 21 – NASA’s Dawn spacecraft is scheduled to launch aboard a Delta 2 rocket on a mission to visit a pair of asteroids.
June 28 – Shuttle Endeavour is scheduled to launch on a mission to add a section of structural truss to the station. The flight also will carry to
orbit Educator Astronaut Barbara Morgan.
Aug. 3 – NASA’s Phoenix spacecraft is scheduled to launch aboard a Delta 2 rocket on a mission to land near Mars’ north pole.
Sept. 7 – Shuttle Atlantis is scheduled to launch on a mission to add a passageway for future laboratory modules to the station.
Nov. 5 – Shuttle Discovery is scheduled to launch on a mission to add Europe’s Columbus science lab to the station.
